We wanted to create a bright and sunny afternoon with strong drop shadows for the 2 outside scenes. Our sun/key light was a T12 fresnel through a 4x4 frame of 1/4 CTO. Slightly to the left and behind our sun was a 12x12 frame of 1/2 grid cloth that we pushed an additional T12 through to create a big, soft source. To the left of this, 90° off camera was a 12x12 ultra bounce with a 5k Mole Richardson bouncing into it for additional ambient fill. Directly above camera was a 4x8 bounce board with 2 Arri T2 fresnels bouncing into it, this helped wrap the key and also provided eye-light. Our sky light was a 10x10 @litegear Auroris X, mounted on truss and goal posted on either side of the set. We set the color temperature to 6000K to offset the warmth coming from the sun and all the other tungsten units. The Auroris had a 4ft duvetyne skirt wrapped around it to prevent spill light. 90° off camera right was a 12x12 ultra bounce for passive fill. On tighter shots we used a 4x4 frame of Hampshire Frost for a softer light quality. No backlight was used but CRLS boards by @thelightbridge were used to create a subtle edge on close up shots.

The bathroom scene also needed to feel bright & sunny, so @ki_hwang made a window pattern out of showcard and pushed a T12 through it to simulate sun hitting the background. The key light was two @nanlux_global Dyno 1200C’s through a 12x12 frame of full grid cloth. Directly above camera was a 4x8 bounce board with 2 T2 Fresnels bouncing into it to wrap the key light and for eye-light. A 12x12 ultra bounce was rigged above set with one Arri T5 and two Source 4 Leko’s bouncing into it for some top light and ambient fill.
